I Would Describe Myself As

In 1969 I collapsed. I was 19 years old , a jock in great shape, but I was being hauled to the hospital. I was weak, was having trouble breathing and every joint in my body was in pain like I had never felt before. After I was there a few days I was diagnosed with Kidney Failure—my Kidneys were 90% destroyed . After a month they said I had SLE (systemic lupus erythematosus). The SLE was forming antibodies due to my exposure to sunlight and clogging up all of the millions of tubes in my kidneys giving me glomerulonephritis. I was told that the kidneys would not last another year; they were wrong, with mega doses of cortisone my kidneys did not fail until 1996—unfortunately I was mostly sick all those in between years. In 1997 I had kidney transplant surgery, during the surgery my appendix was unknowingly cut open and I was sent home with appendicitis. this caused a large hernia to be created. Anyways After 3 unsuccessful Hernia repair operations and taking tons of transplant medications and cortisteroid drugs I have gained weight The good--My kidney is working fine. I still have the Systemic Lupus that started all the organ failures, this gives me chronic joint pain. I still want to live and love. I have been sick most of my life.I have recently been told by my doctors that I can no longer fly anymore. This extremely limits the distance that I can go to meet a girl-probably not more than 100 miles.
